→ Eric Bauer + Carina Khorkhordina

18.-SEA_2021-Info-Line-Up-Sound-Installations

Carina Khorkhordina on trumpet and Eric Bauer on electronics/electric guitar are both autodidact musicians active in the field of improvised music. The duo started in early 2018 in Berlin and is exploring an extensive variety of possibilities, from transparency of small sounds and microscopic changes/disturbing silences to loudness and density, pushing each other into unknown territories and each time taking risks. The duo has a complementing/oppositional setup of Eric's wide range of instruments - analog modular synthesizer, sampler, objects, elements of percussion and strings, electric guitar and Carina's trumpet on the other side.

 → João Pais Filipe

19.-Joao-Pais-Filipe-at-Panteao-Nacional-c-Nuno-Martins

After releasing his first debut album in 2019, João Pais Filipe opens a new solo dialogue with the listener. “Sun Oddly Quiet” is the result of the different experiences that the percussionist and sound sculptor from Porto lived over the past three years. The collaborations he developed with other musicians (Burnt Friedman, Steve Hubback, Fritz Hauser, Evan Parker, Marcello Magliocchi or Rafael Toral), the trips to Africa, Asia and Latin America that allowed him to discover other percussive languages, and the regular solo live performances around Portugal and Europe. While listening to “Sun Oddly Quiet” we feel the certainty of who knows the present and the future through an idealized album. For the listener it is a map of an uncertain place to be walked between mantras and the exact coordinates on how to make percussive music in 2020.
